Ernst Liebing and Hugo Licht, both former examiners of the Imperial Patent Office, commence the firm in Berlin

1949
relocation of the office by Martin Licht and Dr. Reinhold Schmidt to Munich, which at that time became the new seat of the German Patent Office (now German Patent and Trademark Office) and which became the seat of the European Patent Office in 1978, and Oppenau/Schwarzwald respectively

1980
affiliation of Dipl.-Ing. Werner Vogeser in the firm Licht, Schmidt, Hansmann & Herrmann and renaming of the firm to Hansmann & Vogeser

1987
merger with the Patent and Law Firm Dr. Boecker, Frankfurt, founded in 1959

1992
merger with the Patent Law Firm Mueller-Börner & Wey, Munich

1994
merger with the Patent Law Firm Liedl and Partners, Munich, founded in 1954

merger with the Law Firm Beil, Wolff & Beil, Frankfurt, founded in 1946

Our close and personal contact with the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the European Patent Office (EPO), as well as with the Federal Patent Court (BPatG) in Munich permits fast response times, rapid decisions and savings of costs through shorter routes.
